The Necessities of Life

The story goes that a couple of months ago my oven died a long and slow death. Bit by bit things started to stop working, no timer, no baking function and after replacing elements to make it last a little longer the last straw came when the concealed element and the grill function simultaneously blew up!
It sounded like an easy task to buy a new oven but when we found out that nothing would fit in the oven cabinet without some serious alterations we were a little worried. Christmas is looming!
Today, however, just 3 sleeps until Christmas I have a brand new shiny oven sitting neatly in its place thanks to a handy hubby who cut and planed and moved things around inside the cabinet so the oven that we thought would fit in there did actually fit. I hope now that this oven knows I am the boss and it doesn't have any quirky little habits that one has to get used too.

I think I will change my mind about having "a place for everything and everything in its place" because sometimes everything just doesn't fit in its place!

Cheers,
Lynda
