KRTEK

My new piece of knitting is the free pattern Krtek by Orlane. It is a neckwarmer/short scarf. It has a textural pattern and the bobble bits make it interesting and fun to knit. The yarn I am using is not as chunky as called for in the pattern but still gives a good effect and I think any chunkier and it would be too hot around the neck for the weather here.
For the bobbles I'm working the purl stitches from the front of the work to save turning the piece every 5 stitches. I have not used this technique before but it is working a treat and makes it less fiddly to knit.

The yarn I am using is a Moda Vera yarn but I can't remember which one exactly as the puppy stole the yarn label. The variegation in this yarn is well suited to the pattern and highlights the bobbles beautifully.
Oh and it is a very quick knit!
Cheers Lynda

  1. I like the color! Looks like a good one - feels good to be back in the saddle, I bet!

  2. Oh squishy! I may have to try that purl in the front thing. May come in handy. Of course, that would mean that I might actually need to be working on a project...
