Twisty Twirl Scarf - Yay it's done!

What's not to love about Noro yarns. Certainly not the colours - they are fabulous! This skein of Noro Kureyon Sock Yarn Col. No. S185  is full of deep shades of rich orange, mustard yellow, muddy greens, purple and rusty red. To showcase the gorgeous colours in this yarn I picked the pattern Twisty Twirl Scarf by Irene Lundgaard. The designer describes this pattern as a simple crochet moebius scarf with hyperbolic twirls of colour. I'm about quarter way through the skein and so far it is looking great. I can't wait to see all the colours unfold as the project progresses. It is working up quickly due to the fact that it is a crochet pattern and uses simple dc (sc)  and ch stitches. I know I should be working on all my unfinished projects but the colours in this yarn called loudly.

LOVE IT, LOVE IT, LOVE IT.

I love it! The Clockwork by Stephen West is just fabulous. It is a must knit project. Go on, get the pattern and knit it. I love all of his patterns but this is one I can't wait to try in other colours. I love that it is long, I love that it is striking in its use of bold lines and I love it knitted in the black and grey. The cleverly placed increases give gentle shaping to the design. This is a pattern that is easily memorised and can be picked up at any time to work a few rows here and there. It is a quick and simple project to make but took me longer because it had to share time with another love - The Mortal Instruments series by Cassandra Clare. Thanks Erin for recommending these books.  I'm onto the second book, City of Ashes, and I am enjoying every page!

Mmm what colour will I do the next Clockwork in or should I buy another one of his patterns...oooh the dilemma. It is a nice dilemma to have isn't it!

Another project out of the unfinished basket

I made this square months ago because I was interested to see how the two colour crochet spiral was worked. The pattern Squaring a Spiral Dishcloth by Deborah Ellis was an easy pattern to follow and was quick to make using 10ply yarn. I added a kitchen themed fabric backing to the square and turned it into a great potholder.

One more unfinished item completed. I think I am doing well.
